Signing Unsigned Applications On Your Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

You can install a signer application straight onto your 5800, and sign it on your phone. To do this, we’re going to use an application called FreeSigner, which you can download from below

Using FreeSigner is really simple;

Pre-requisites:

• FreeSigner (download link below).
• your developer certificate (you can request for your certificate and key file from us)

COMPLETE STEP BY STEP FOR SIGNING PROCESS:

Copy your developer certificate and key file into a directory on my memory card, in the “Certs” sub-folder under the “Documents” folder, so it’s located in “E:\Documents\Certs”,

Place it anywhere you can find it easily later.

Having installed FreeSigner on your phone, launch it from the “Applications” menu. You need to configure some settings first. Tapping “Options” - “Settings” will bring up the above screen:

• Ignore the items which say “Self sign” in front of them. Self signing may wont work for a lot of applications, so it is importnat that you have your own certificate and key file for signing all application / games / themes. and for which you can place your request here by posting your IMEI umber.
• Now, tap on “Sign Cert”. FreeSigner will now prompt you to select your certificate file, usually a file whose extension is “cer”. Select this file, and its name will appear like in the screen above.
• Next, tap on “Sign Key”. FreeSigner will now prompt you to select your certificate file, usually a file whose extension is “key”. Select this file, and its name will appear like in the screen above.
• Next, if the person who supplied you with the developer certificate also mentioned that to use the “key” file, you need a certain password, you need to enter it now. Tap on “Sign Key Pass” and enter the password given. If no password is needed, skip this step.
• Next, choose the directory where your signed file will be placed. I normally just use the source directory, ie. wherever you put the unsigned file, FreeSigner will sign it, and put the signed file in the same directory as the unsigned file. Makes life easy.
• Next, tap “Back”.
• To choose the file for signing, tap on “Add Task” and you will see a screen which asks you where the file is located. Choose the drive where your file is (C = phone memory, E = memory card), then choose the directory where the file resides as in the screen below.

This program will install:

*Note: If you have any of these programs installed on your mobile there is no problem continuing the installation, however, this ones have been tested, none others, so if you have any trouble during the procedure uninstall the ones you have and re-install Drakkarious.sis.

After installing please follow this procedure:
1.-Run X-plore and press "0", tick the 4 boxes (dont un-tick if ticked already)
2.-Without closing X-plore switch to the menu and run hellocarbide
3.-Inside hellocarbide press options and chose Menu1 and answer "yes".
4.-Go back to X-plore and extract installserver.exe and CProfDriver_SISX.ldd from your c:\hack.rar into c:\sys\bin
5.-Restart your phone.
6.-Install whatever you want on your phone, even if it is unsigned

Run capsOff if you wish to see private folders using X-plore and capsOn to hide them again
Note: I advice you to always hide private folders after you have completed whatever you wanted to do inside them...


NOTE: AFTER COMPLETING YOU MUST RESTART YOUR PHONE TO BE ABLE TO INSTALL ANY APP, AND REMEMBER TO ALWAYS PUT YOUR PHONES DATE BACK TO THE PRESENT AGAIN, ALWAYS CHOOSE THE CORRECT VERSION FOR YOUR PHONE, AND IF YOU DONT YOULL NEED TO MANUALLY REMOVE INSTALLSERVER.EXE FROM C:\SYS\BIN\ USING X-PLORE AND HELLOCARBIDE... IF YOU MAKE THIS MISTAKE PLEASE REPEAT THE PROCESS USING THE CORRECT VERSION: FP1 & FP2 OR PREFP1

did you guys know it exist?

I have no idea how I missed this software, but it's probably the best thing since disco!
this freeware allows you to re-map all the keys on the device to other keys.
But! it allows you to do so per program, so I mapped the multimedia keys to the numbers 1-4 so I can use them in PicoDrive, VBag, etc.


For example, I mapped the following keys:
Forward->1
Play->2
Stop->3
Rewind->4

and in PicoDrive (it's a Sega Genesis/Megadrive emulator if you didn't know):

1->Start
2->A
3->B
4->C

after you've signed and installed it, open it and follow this instructions:

1. Press right to go to the KeyMap List.
2. Press 1 or Options->Add to add a new KeyMap item. Name it as you wish.
3. Click on the new Item you've just created, then click again to add a new Key Pair.
4. Click on the OK/Select button [the middle of the 4-ways button].
5. From the list, select the key you wish to map [for example, the Play button]. You can type the name of the button to search for it.
6. After you've selected the Original key, it's scancode will appear on the screen.
7. Go down to the "Map to:" field.
8. Click on the OK/Select button again and select the key you wish to replace the one you've selected earlier.
9. Select OK.
10. Go back to KeyMap list, press left to go to the App list.
11. Press 1 or Options->Add and select you program for which you want to change the key mapping (I've selected PicoDrive).
12. Click on the new Item you've just created and select the KeyMap you've created.
13. Important - Press Exit. The program will exit, but part of it will still run in the background (the program's icon will not be shown as active).
14. Run the program you've selected [i.e. PicoDrive], and enjoy the media buttons.

Easy method of hacking N95 to allow installation of unsigned apps

Finding an easy way to get unsigned apps on my N95 8GB, so i thought i would post it here to help save some people some massive time wasting.

I have kind of combined a couple of methods to produce one easy 5 minute process.

As for crediting the original people, well I got all the infor/files i needed from multiple sources, so apologies to everyone. I am not taking credit for the creation of the files or the process. maybe for the "fine tuning" hehehe

ok, you will need 4 files, and you need to FOLLOW THIS PROCESS.

STEP 1:

Install Y Browser on your phone, your phone should allow it as it's signed (it was at the time of this posting)

STEP 2:

Install HelloCarbide.sisx

STEP 3:

Connect Your phone using data transfer mode and copy the other 2 files (installer.exe and CProfDriver_SISX.ldd) to a directory somewhere on the phone (remember where!) I copied mine to E:\Hack

STEP 4: - READ CAREFULLY!!!

Open up Y-Browser
Hit the menu key (so Y-Browser is still running in the background)
Run HelloCarbide from your applications folder.
Click options >> Menu1
--it will say Done....probably
Then click Yes
Go back to Y-Browser
Copy the 2 files mentioned in Step 3 to C:\SYS\BIN

Note: If you accidently exit Y-Browser before you have copied the files, you will have to turn your phone off and back on and repeat step 4

STEP 5:

Once the 2 files are in the SYS\BIN folder, you can turn your phone off and back on and Voila! You will now be able to install unsigned apps like RotateMe etc

Cant delete a file normally?

When you cant delete a file which is in your inbox the normal way, here is what you can do;

1. Install FExplorer.

2. Launch it and goto the path/folder of your message inbox. If its on the C drive, it would be C:\system\Mail\00001001_S and the same if its on the E.

3. You will notice there are more folders, 0 to9 and a to f. Just go look into all those folders and you should be able to find the file that you wanna delete.

4. Once found, ** on Options>File>Delete.

5. Exit FExplorer & goto your Inbox to delete the file again.


Full phone formatting on a 6600!

If you encounter situation like below on your 6600,
1. Blank screen phone unable to reboot.
2. Phone only able to boot-up to "Nokia" word screen.
3. Warning of Application Error pops-up requently.
4. Or just because for the fun of it!

Do a Full phone formatting on your 6600! as steps below,



1. Make sure you have at least 3/4 charge of battery power left.

2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card.

3. Switch-off your 6600 phone.

4. Press and hold 3 keys;

Green dial key, * (star key) & no. 3 key and then press the power on/off to swtich on the 6600 phone.

Remember, do not let go all of the keys and hold keys until you see a formatting word screen show!

5. After a few minutes when the Full phone formatting completed, your 6600 will back to original system and factory settting.

All apps installed & id not of the phones' default will be lost. If you did a backup on your mmc, you can restore it back to the C drive again.


FExplorer Tips & Tricks.

* How to reset the operator logo :
1) go to the following dir :
c:\system\apps\phone\oplogo
2) delete any file in this directory
3) restart the phone

* to make a screenshot on a Nokia 3650, 6600 :
1) use the pencil key + '0'

* to make a screenshot on a SX1 :
1) use the shift key + '0'

* remember, there are some shortcuts :
: copy
: cut
: paste
: go to root
: PageUp
: top of the list
: PageDown
: file properties

* 'send command' fails new firmware
with some new firmware, some users have reported that the 'send command' (thru bluetooth, IR, ...) fails; it's due to a 'copyrigth protection' introduced in the new OS (!!!!), this happens only with some kind of files (eg: .SIS), in such case, simply rename the file (eg: wtih .SIS_ ) before trying to send them.

The Multimedia card (MMC) Trick

In order to swap the memory of two Nokia phones, but with memory cards wherein one phone has Reduced sized multimedia card(RS-MMC) compatibility and the other phone has Multimedia card (MMC) compatibility. There are 5 steps which will prove to be of great help. Follow the instructions below.

1. Remove the RS-MMC card, 2. Remove the MMC card 3. Now hold the RS-MMC card in hand 4. Simply insert it in the slot meant for the MMC card in such a position where all the pins connect with the pins on the slot of your MMC Compatible phone, 5. Fix the battery and switch on the phone.
